Analytics Leadership During a Crisis

Decision making during a time of crisis is chaotic with heightened levels of uncertainty and emotions running high. Traditional data sources have limited value, information is changing constantly, and guidance to slow down does not sit well with action-oriented decision makers. Leading analytics teams during these times has its own challenges. Existing mathematical models were probably never designed to anticipate the crisis, and there isn’t enough time or data to update them. It can be especially frustrating for analytics professionals who want to help but are sidelined because the chaos does not allow for methodical analysis.

Leadership is the constant in all the chaos. This session will cover ideas on strong and pragmatic analytics leadership that can help analytics teams become a great resource to their organizations during a crisis, through the recovery, and into a better future.
